Aston Villa have completed the signing of Senegal international Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain in a deal reportedly worth £47 million ($63 million).
The 18-year-old winger arrives in England after an impressive season with PSG, where he made 31 appearances across competitions as the French champions secured both the UEFA Champions League and Ligue 1 titles.
Mbaye’s rise has also continued at international level. The France-born forward featured four times for Senegal at the 2026 FIFA World Cup and scored against France, becoming the youngest African player to find the net in the men’s tournament.
He has earned 15 senior caps for Senegal since making his PSG first-team debut at the age of 16.
Villa confirmed the transfer in a statement, describing Mbaye as a promising young player who joins the club on a permanent deal.
Villa add another attacking option
Mbaye becomes the latest arrival at Aston Villa following a major reshaping of Unai Emery’s squad.
Villa’s recruitment drive comes after the club ended a 30-year wait for a major trophy by winning the Europa League last season.
The club has since parted ways with several established players, including Morgan Rogers, Youri Tielemans, Ollie Watkins, Lucas Digne, Emiliano Martinez and Ezri Konsa.
Emery has responded by bringing in a series of new faces, including Alejandro Garnacho, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Johan Manzambi, Zion Suzuki, Joao Gomes, Leon Goretzka, Matteo Ruggeri and Nicolas Jackson.
Mbaye’s arrival adds another highly rated young attacker to an increasingly revamped Villa squad as Emery prepares his team for the new campaign.
