Afriland Properties Appoints Ayobami-Ojo to Board After Transformative Tenure at NNPC Properties

Afriland Properties Plc has appointed Iyabode Olayemi Ayobami-Ojo as an Independent Non-Executive Director, bringing to its Board a seasoned executive widely recognised for transforming NNPC Properties Limited into a commercially focused and viable real estate enterprise.

Ayobami-Ojo brings more than three decades of experience in real estate, business services, corporate governance and institutional development.

As Managing Director of NNPC Properties Limited, she inherited an underperforming portfolio and spearheaded a remarkable turnaround. Through strategic repositioning, stronger governance and disciplined asset optimisation, she unlocked the commercial value of previously underutilised properties and transformed the company into a more efficient, revenue-driven and commercially sustainable business.

Her tenure was marked by bold reforms, improved operational performance and a renewed focus on converting dormant assets into productive investments capable of delivering long-term value.

Before leading NNPC Properties Limited, Ayobami-Ojo held several senior positions across the NNPC system, including Director of the NNPC Academy; Executive Director, Business Services, NNPC Trading Limited; Head of Stakeholder and Relationship Management in the Corporate Communications Division; and General Manager, External Relations, Group Public Affairs Division.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English Arts from Ogun State University. She is a member of the Chartered Institute of Directors, a Fellow of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations and a registered member of the Financial Reporting Council of Nigeria.

She is also a certified coach of the United Kingdom’s Institute of Leadership and Management and a Certified Partnership Broker.
