The Secretary-General of the pan-Yoruba socio-cultural organisation, Afenifere, Sola Ebiseni, has declared support for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 re-election bid and expressed readiness to work with the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ondo State.
Ebiseni said Tinubu should be given another term to consolidate the administration’s socio-economic and security policies, adding that retaining the presidency in the South would contribute to political stability.
Ebiseni made the declaration during a courtesy visit to Ondo State Governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, at the Government House in Akure on Thursday, where he was received by the governor alongside the state APC Chairman, Kolawole Babatunde.
Ebiseni specifically cited the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway as an important project for communities in the Ilaje axis, saying he would support Tinubu’s re-election while advocating for the proper coastal alignment of the road through Ondo State.
He also mentioned the proposed state police and the expansion of Nigerian Army divisions as initiatives that required more time to mature, adding that he and his supporters were prepared to contribute to Tinubu’s re-election campaign.
Aiyedatiwa, in response, assured Ebiseni and his supporters that they would be accommodated in the APC’s campaign structure as preparations for the 2027 general elections gather momentum.
The governor said Ebiseni’s political experience, grassroots engagement and leadership roles in Afenifere and other socio-cultural organisations would strengthen the party’s activities in the state.
He also highlighted Ebiseni’s previous service as chairman of the old Ilaje-Ese-Odo Local Government and as a commissioner in Ondo State, describing the experience as valuable to the campaign for Tinubu’s second term.
