The Taraba Tiv Youth Grassroots Mobilization for APGA has formally endorsed Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi, popularly known as Danji SS, as its preferred candidate for Governor of Taraba State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
In a statement issued on Sunday by the Coordinator of the group, Comr. Muyee Mulega Ioreren, the organisation also declared its support for all APGA candidates contesting various elective positions across the state.
The endorsement note was read by Comr. Ephraim Tordue Kumaga.
According to Ioreren, the decision followed extensive consultations with Tiv communities across the 16 Local Government Areas of Taraba State.
The group said its endorsement was based on what it described as Danji SS’s leadership capacity, integrity, grassroots appeal, and commitment to inclusive governance and youth development.
The leaders described Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi as “a leader with capacity, integrity, and a proven commitment to inclusive governance and youth development.”
The endorsement represents another significant development in the political realignments and grassroots mobilisation taking shape ahead of the 2027 general elections in Taraba State.
Supporters of Danji SS and members of the APGA family in Taraba have welcomed the development, describing it as a boost to the party’s grassroots mobilisation and electoral prospects across the state.
The Taraba Tiv Youth Grassroots Mobilization for APGA further pledged to work tirelessly to mobilise support and votes for Danji SS and all APGA candidates at the grassroots level.
The group also expressed confidence that Tiv youths and communities across the state would actively participate in the political process and contribute to the emergence of candidates committed to responsive, inclusive, and people-oriented governance.
The endorsement comes at a time of increasing political engagement and realignment across Taraba State, with political actors and community-based groups positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 elections.
For the APGA campaign, the development is being viewed as an important addition to its grassroots mobilisation efforts and its broader message of inclusiveness and political participation across ethnic and regional communities in Taraba State.
