Lindsay Clancy, who is on trial in Massachusetts for killing her children – Cora, Dawson, and Callan, broke down during the hearing today. A video from the courtroom proceedings went viral as her attorney Kevin Reddington could be seen holding the distraught woman’s hand.
“Lindsay Clancy sobs uncontrollably, interrupts as the medical examiner testified, forcing the judge to call for multiple breaks. “I can’t do this!” Clancy sobbed. The comment came while the medical examiner shared details about the autopsy of Clancy’s 5-year-old daughter. Clancy strangled Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months, before slitting her wrists and jumping out of a 2nd-story window,” the person sharing the video wrote.

While Lindsay has not denied killing her children, she’s pleaded not guilty to murder saying she was overmedicated and suffering from severe postpartum psychosis.
What happens in the Lindsay Clancy trial video
In the video shared online, the witness – identified as the medical examiner – could be heard saying “the type of IV they put directly into the bone, on her right lower leg.”
“Her hands, at the time of my external examination, were covered by police evidence bags and were secured at the wrist with tape,” the expert continued, speaking about ‘bruising and abrasions.’ During this time, Lindsay’s attorney Kevin Reddington could be seen gripping her hand tight as the woman appeared to convulse in the courtroom.
When the prosecutor went on to ask “and what about injuries,” Lindsay could be heard sobbing in the background, saying “I can’t do this.”
This prompted the judge to intervene and ask counsel to try and control Lindsay, and eventually the hearing was adjourned for a break. Even as Reddington got off the chair, Lindsay could be seen with her head down and sobbing. Two people came to her aid and wheeled her away on the wheelchair as Lindsay continued to sob.
The difficult moment in the testimony drew reactions from many. One shared photos of Reddington holding Lindsay’s hand and wrote “Defense Attorney Kevin Reddington today in court during difficult testimony from the medical examiners. He held Lindsay Clancy’s hand at one point during testimony.”

Several people reacted to Lindsay’s video. “It’s clear that woman was not in her right mind then or probably now. The sad truth is that the mental health system failed her. We need to bring back locking people into instructions. She should have been put in a facility for long term treatment. Psych drugs alone don’t work,” one wrote.
Another added “I don’t doubt for a second that she isn’t in pain… she’ll get mercy maybe after this life.” Yet another said “She should hear every gruesome detail of what she did…”.
