Troops Nab 2 Suspected Terrorist Vendors in Adamawa, Recover Cash, Phones
Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested two suspected associates of terrorists, including an alleged logistics vendor, during an intelligence-led operation in Mubi, Adamawa State.
The operation was conducted at about 9:50 p.m. on August 6, 2026, by troops of the 247 Reconnaissance Battalion, in collaboration with a local hunters’ group, following intelligence on the activities of a suspected terrorist associate operating in Mubi under the guise of a businessman and Bureau de Change operator.
The principal suspect, identified as 39-year-old Alhaji Adamu Abba, was arrested alongside his alleged associate, 31-year-old Abdulhamid Shamsudeen, at Wurobululde in Mubi South Local Government Area.
Military sources said Abba, a Kanuri from Banki and resident in Tasha-Gella, Mubi South, allegedly disclosed during preliminary interrogation that he had worked with terrorists for about 10 years at a terrorist camp in Ndawori, Borno State.
He reportedly left the camp for Cameroon before subsequently relocating to Mubi, Adamawa State.
Items recovered from Abba included one Infinix Android phone, one Tecno button phone, one Itel power bank, one Salti motorcycle and ₦65,000 in cash.
The items recovered from Shamsudeen comprised one Tecno Spark 8P mobile phone, one Itel power bank, ₦162,700 in cash and 262,500 CFA francs.
The suspects are currently in military custody and undergoing further investigation to establish the nature and extent of their alleged links with terrorist networks and their possible roles in facilitating terrorist activities.
