
The Jama’atu Izalatil Bid’ah wa Iqamatis Sunnah (JIBWIS Nigeria), in collaboration with the Muslim World League, will convene an international conference in Abuja to examine national security, counter-extremism and sustainable socio-economic development which President Bola Ahmed Tinubu will declare open.
The International Conference on National Security for Sustainable Socio-Economic Development is scheduled to hold on August 12, 2026, at the International Conference Centre, Abuja.
The conference is expected to bring together Islamic scholars, policymakers, security experts and international stakeholders to deliberate on practical approaches to promoting peace, stability and inclusive development.
Judicial leaders, security experts and international delegates are expected to participate as guests of honour and keynote contributors.
The organizers said the conference is aimed at fostering dialogue, strengthening partnerships and developing sustainable responses to security challenges while promoting socio-economic development.
They said the partnership between JIBWIS Nigeria and the Muslim World League reflects a shared commitment to promoting diversity, social harmony, cooperation among communities and peaceful coexistence.
The organisers added that the initiative builds on previous engagements between Muslim and Christian leaders and reinforces the belief that religious and cultural diversity can contribute to national unity, stability and societal progress.
