Mike “The Miz” Mizanin still has two major WWE accomplishments missing from his résumé, but neither one represents what he truly hopes to achieve during the next chapter of his career. The longtime WWE Superstar acknowledged that winning the Royal Rumble and becoming King of the Ring would allow him to check off two of the few remaining boxes on his professional bucket list.
However, when asked by The Blast what he still wants to accomplish, The Miz revealed that his biggest priority is no longer centered on his own success. Instead, he wants to pass the lessons he learned from WWE legends like Triple H, Shawn Michaels, and John Cena to the company’s next generation.
Throughout his career, The Miz has repeatedly found ways to reinvent himself while competing against some of WWE’s biggest names. However, when asked whether there was anything left on his professional bucket list, he admitted that two notable achievements have continued to elude him.
“This may sound stupid or whatever. I could say I want to win the Royal Rumble. I want to be King of the Ring because they’re the only two things I haven’t done,” The Miz told The Blast.
Winning either would add another major honor to an already lengthy career. The Royal Rumble is also traditionally associated with an opportunity to compete in a championship match at WrestleMania, while the King of the Ring tournament gives its winner a distinction held by some of the company’s most recognizable performers.
Even so, The Miz did not dwell on either missing accomplishment. His answer quickly turned toward the wrestlers coming up behind him and the role he believes he should play in preparing them for the future.
His Real Goal Is Bigger Than Another Personal Victory
5After naming the Royal Rumble and King of the Ring, The Miz explained that what he really wants is to make sure the knowledge he received throughout his career does not end with him. “But honestly, it’s to pass on the knowledge,” he said. “Pass on the knowledge that was bestowed to me.”
The Miz has shared the ring with performers from several eras of WWE, giving him the opportunity to learn from stars whose experience cannot easily be replicated. “I’ve been able to be in the ring with the best of the best,” he emphasized. “I’m talking the Triple H’s, the Sean Michaels’s, the John Cena’s.”
He also named AJ Styles while reflecting on the caliber of performers he has faced and the lessons he was able to take from those experiences. “I’ve been able to wrestle people that people aren’t able to wrestle anymore. AJ Styles. I’ve been able to wrestle these guys,” he continued. “I’ve been getting their knowledge from them, and now it’s my job to pass on what they taught me to bring it to the next generation.”
The WWE Superstar Believes He Is Better Than Ever
5The Miz’s interest in mentoring younger performers does not mean he is preparing to step away from the spotlight. In fact, he believes his experience has made him more capable than ever. “Honestly, I feel like I’m at a height of my knowledge, and my body still feels incredible,” he told The Blast. “If anything, I feel like I’m the best I’ve ever been.”
That confidence, he explained, is rooted in experience rather than simply part of the larger-than-life personality audiences have watched for years. “I’m super confident, and it’s not a false confidence,” The Miz said. “It’s a knowledge of ‘been there, done that, know it, know how to do it.’”
The Miz Says He Can Turn Any WWE Assignment Into ‘The Best Thing On The Show’
5One of the biggest advantages of that experience is his ability to recognize what an audience needs in the moment. If the crowd is not responding the way he wants, The Miz believes he now knows how to shift the energy and bring viewers along with him. “When an audience isn’t where I need them to be, I know exactly how to get them to where I need them to be,” he explained.
The Miz also insisted he remains willing to tackle assignments that other performers may hesitate to accept.“If I am asked to do something that most people would say no to, I’m a person that would say, I can do that,” he said. “And not only can I do that, but I’ll also make it the best thing on the show.”
Feeling Underestimated Still Fuels The Miz
5Despite everything he has accomplished, The Miz told The Blast he continues to feel overlooked. “Every day of my life, I am underestimated,” he declared. “I am the underdog.”
That perception has long fueled his drive, and he does not appear eager to let it go. Whether the doubt comes from other people or from pressure he places on himself, The Miz uses it to maintain the mentality that helped carry him through his WWE career.
“And I always have that chip on my shoulder, whether I’m giving it to myself or other people are giving it to me,” he explained. “There’s just something about having a chip on your shoulder and always wanting to perform at the elite level and be better than everybody else.”
For The Miz, the next stage of his WWE journey is not an either-or decision between chasing his own goals and preparing the next generation. He believes he can continue operating at the top of his game while giving younger talent the knowledge once passed down to him.
