Super Eagles Trio Osimhen, Iheanacho, Lookman Score for Clubs

Super Eagles forwards Victor Osimhen, Ademola Lookman and Kelechi Iheanacho all found the net for their respective clubs on Saturday as the Nigerian trio continued their impressive starts to the new season.

Osimhen was once again decisive for Galatasaray, scoring a penalty and creating another goal as the Turkish champions defeated Göztepe 3-2 in the Super Lig.

Göztepe took an early lead through Miroshi in the 16th minute before Davinson Sánchez brought Galatasaray level.

Osimhen then turned provider, setting up Gabriel Sara to put the home side ahead. The Nigeria international later converted from the penalty spot in the 63rd minute to extend Galatasaray’s advantage and take his personal league tally to five goals.

Göztepe reduced the deficit late in the game, but Galatasaray held on to secure all three points and move to the top of the table after three matches.

In Spain, Lookman opened his account for Atlético Madrid in their 3-1 victory over Sevilla.

The Nigerian forward scored in the 33rd minute after Álex Baena had given Atlético the lead, contributing to a comfortable home victory.

Meanwhile, Iheanacho continued his remarkable run in Turkey’s second tier, scoring and providing an assist as Bursaspor defeated Kayserispor.

The performance took Iheanacho’s goal involvement to six in four matches for Bursaspor this season.

The Nigerian striker has now scored in every game he has played this term. He had previously found the net against Karagümrük and Igdir FK, while also registering an assist against Bodrum FK.

The performances of the three Super Eagles stars provide an encouraging early-season boost for Nigeria, with their club form expected to remain closely followed as the campaign progresses.
