Premier League clubs face a frantic final stretch of the summer transfer window, with several major deals still unresolved as the deadline approaches.
Among the biggest names attracting attention are Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez, Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez and Liverpool attacker Cody Gakpo, with Arsenal, Manchester City, Tottenham and other clubs weighing moves.
Arsenal, Barcelona chase Alvarez
Julian Alvarez remains at the centre of transfer speculation, with Arsenal and Barcelona interested in the Argentina international.
Atletico Madrid are reportedly unwilling to sell the 26-year-old to Barcelona but could consider an offer from Arsenal. The Spanish club are said to value Alvarez at around €150m (£128m).
Questions over his future have intensified after Alvarez missed several training sessions and was omitted from Atletico’s squad for their meeting with Sevilla.
Man City monitor Fernandez
Manchester City are keeping tabs on Chelsea midfielder Enzo Fernandez as uncertainty grows around his future at Stamford Bridge.
Fernandez was absent from Chelsea’s squad for Sunday’s Premier League win over Brighton, raising further speculation about a possible departure.
A move to City could require the club to surpass their existing transfer record, following their reported £116m acquisition of Elliot Anderson earlier in the summer.
Chelsea consider Camara
Chelsea could look towards Monaco midfielder Lamine Camara if Fernandez eventually leaves.
The Senegal international, who has 49 appearances for his country, has emerged as a possible option for the Blues and could become their 13th signing of the summer.
Chelsea are also expected to see further movement among their squad before the window closes, with several players potentially departing either permanently or on loan.
Gakpo wanted by Man City, Spurs
Manchester City have reportedly begun discussions with Liverpool over Cody Gakpo.
The Netherlands international is said to be receptive to a move to the Etihad, while Tottenham are also interested. City could be prepared to offer about £85m for the Liverpool forward.
Liverpool, however, are unlikely to approve a departure unless they can add another attacker to their squad, with Barcelona winger Bradley Barcola among the players reportedly being considered.
Liverpool turn to Sarr
Liverpool have also explored a move for Crystal Palace winger Ismaila Sarr as they search for additional attacking options.
The Premier League champions previously saw two offers for Brighton winger Yankuba Minteh rejected, with Brighton reportedly seeking more than the £60m already offered.
Liverpool also approached Palace regarding Sarr last week, although their initial interest did not produce an agreement.
Richarlison, Ndiaye in possible swap
Tottenham and Everton are working on a deal that could see Iliman Ndiaye move to Spurs while Richarlison heads back to Goodison Park.
Talks over Ndiaye are reportedly at an advanced stage, although Manchester City’s interest could still affect the situation.
Everton have also reached an agreement in principle for Richarlison to return. The Brazilian is reportedly keen to leave Tottenham with his contract entering its final year.
Grealish favours Everton loan
Jack Grealish could return to Everton on another loan spell from Manchester City.
Everton are increasingly confident of completing the move after the England international spent last season at the club.
Grealish reportedly prefers another season at Goodison Park despite interest from Aston Villa, the club where he began his professional career.
Newcastle track Fernandez-Pardo
Newcastle United are monitoring Lille forward Matias Fernandez-Pardo as they look to add another attacking player.
The 21-year-old fits the club’s preference for younger players and can operate in different positions across the attack.
Lille’s decision to leave Fernandez-Pardo out of their squad for the weekend clash with Paris Saint-Germain, as well as keeping him away from training until the window closes, has further increased speculation about his future.
Zirkzee could leave Man United
Joshua Zirkzee could become part of Manchester United’s late transfer activity if the club cannot resolve Marcus Rashford’s situation.
Italian side Fiorentina are reportedly interested in taking the Netherlands striker on loan with an option to buy.
United would prefer a permanent departure, although they could consider a loan if it includes an obligation for Fiorentina to make the transfer permanent.
