The Police have arrested three suspects who have been accused of contravening the law through indulging in armed robbery and in possession of firearms in Oyo State.
The security agency disclosed that the suspects, Tomiwa Ayomide of age 28, 32-year-old Haruna Kabiru and Haruna Hassan, are violators of the state’s laws through armed robbery, after which a search was conducted at their hideout where a firearm and ammunition were recovered.According to the Public Relations Officer, Ayanlade Olayinka, in Ibadan, the alleged offenders were nabbed following a credible intelligence leading to the unlawful items, one single-barrel, locally made cut-to-size gun and seven cartridges seen in their possession at their hideout in Sabo-Mokola area.
Olayinka informed that the alleged lawbreakers are now in custody, while investigations are ongoing to identify and apprehend possible accomplices.
“Acting on credible intelligence regarding the activities of suspected armed robbers operating from a hideout within the Sabo-Mokola area of Ibadan, operatives of the Command Monitoring Unit conducted a coordinated raid on the identified apartment in the early hours of the day,” a police statement, on Monday, reads
“The suspects are currently in police custody while investigations continue to determine their involvement in other criminal activities and to apprehend possible accomplices.”
The command reiterated its commitment to protecting lives and property and urged residents to continue providing timely and credible information to support ongoing efforts to combat crime across the state.
