Popular Nigerian streamer and TikTok personality Habeeb Hamzat, popularly known as Peller, has sparked reactions online after insisting he is not wealthy despite receiving expensive gifts during his recent wedding ceremony.
Peller, who recently married fellow content creator Jarvis, made the remark in a viral video while displaying bundles of dollar notes reportedly presented to him by friends and well-wishers during the celebration.
In the video, the content creator urged fans to stop referring to him as a rich man, describing himself instead as “just a poor boy from Ikorodu.”
“Stop saying I’m rich. I’m just a poor boy from Ikorodu,” Peller said while showing the cash gifts.
The statement quickly generated mixed reactions across social media, with many users questioning how someone who received luxury gifts and cash at his wedding could still describe himself as poor.
Others, however, interpreted the comment as a lighthearted expression of humility or part of Peller’s humorous online personality.
The development comes days after the couple’s star-studded wedding, which attracted celebrities, influencers and business figures from across Nigeria. The event also featured several high-profile gifts, including cash donations and other luxury presents that drew widespread attention online.
Among those reacting to the viral clip, an X user identified as @officialjennyx wrote:
“If Peller is poor, then what are the rest of us?”
Another user, @KingTunde, joked:
“This is the kind of poverty I want in my life.”
The video has continued to circulate across social media platforms, adding to the conversations surrounding Peller and Jarvis’ wedding celebration.
