Ogogo’s Old Video Resurfaces After Death, Reveals Years-Long Health Battle

An old video featuring veteran Nollywood actor Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, has resurfaced following his death on Sunday, bringing renewed attention to his account of a prolonged health challenge.

In the video, Hassan spoke about experiencing severe health problems over several years, including chest pain, ulcers and episodes of vomiting blood.

The actor described the period as a frightening experience that at some point made him worry about his life.

Ogogo recalls frightening symptoms

Hassan said he once developed severe chest pain while travelling to a movie location. He explained that the pain extended towards his back and left him seriously uncomfortable.

The veteran actor also said he did not smoke cigarettes or cannabis and described himself as someone who rarely drank alcohol.

“I don’t smoke cigarettes or weed,” Hassan said in the resurfaced video.

He went on to explain his attitude towards alcohol, saying that even when he took beer, he would typically accompany it with soft drinks and could leave the bottle until the following morning.

The video has attracted renewed attention following news of his death, with fans and colleagues remembering the actor’s long career in the Nigerian film industry.

Hassan was widely recognised for his roles in Yoruba-language Nollywood productions and became popularly known by his screen name, Ogogo.
