Osun Election: Davido Reacts as Akpabio, APC Governors Arrive Osogbo

Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, has reacted to the arrival of senior All Progressives Congress (APC) leaders and governors in Osogbo ahead of the Osun State governorship election.

The APC heavyweights gathered in the state capital for the party’s mega campaign rally as the party intensifies efforts to win Saturday’s governorship poll.

Among those in Osogbo were Senate President Godswill Akpabio and APC National Chairman, Prof. Nentawe Yilwatda, alongside several governors elected on the party’s platform.

Governors reported to have arrived in the state included Hope Uzodimma of Imo, Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo and Uba Sani of Kaduna.

The APC leaders have expressed confidence in the party’s prospects and pledged to work towards securing victory in the election.

Former Osun State governor and current Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, Adegboyega Oyetola, also welcomed the APC leaders to the state in a post shared on X.

Davido, however, reacted to Oyetola’s post with a prediction that the APC would not win the election.

The singer used a biblical reference to mock the party’s mobilisation, saying that even bringing Jesus Christ’s 12 disciples to Osun would not change the outcome.

“If you like gather Jesus 12 disciples o ma LULE for the 3rd time,” Davido wrote.

The remark comes against the backdrop of the political contest involving his uncle, Governor Ademola Adeleke, who is seeking another term in office.

With the election approaching, the arrival of the APC leadership and Davido’s reaction have added to the political exchanges surrounding the closely watched Osun contest.
