The National Youth Service Corps has extended the commencement date for the 2026 Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course in Sokoto and Niger states due to ongoing renovation works at the respective orientation camps.
This development was disclosed through a statement by the Director of Information and Public Relations, posted on the scheme’s official social media handle on Friday.
According to the statement, NYSC Management indicated that the decision followed continued rehabilitation efforts being undertaken by the respective state governments at both camp facilities.
Under the revised schedule, the orientation course will now commence on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, with the cut-off registration and swearing-in ceremony scheduled for Friday, August 14.
The closing ceremony has been fixed for Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The scheme advised all prospective corps members posted to the two states to plan their travel arrangements accordingly, specifically cautioning against night journeys to their orientation camps.
The Director-General of the NYSC extended wishes for safe travel to all prospective corps members as preparations for the exercise continue.
