Nigerian-born Chi Uzoma has attained the rank of captain in the United States Army, marking a significant career milestone.
Uzoma shared news of the promotion via social media on Sunday, expressing gratitude for the path leading to her latest advancement.
She credited divine favour for the opportunities culminating in the achievement.
The promotion follows her elevation to sergeant in March 2026, which she similarly celebrated as a result of perseverance and spiritual guidance.
Her trajectory within the US military demonstrates consistent progression over successive months.
Concurrently, Nollywood performer Joseph Momodu announced his enlistment into the US Army two months prior, characterising the decision as realisation of a longstanding personal goal and a tribute to his deceased father, who served in Nigeria’s law enforcement apparatus.
Momodu detailed the rigorous nature of military training, describing it as physically and emotionally demanding.
He emphasised that his advancement stemmed from personal conviction regarding merit-based accomplishment and willingness to surpass self-imposed limitations.
In his announcement, Momodu reflected on the intensity of his military experience, encompassing months of demanding preparation, extended periods of separation, fatigue, adverse weather exposure and psychological pressures that tested his fortitude and determination.
