The Nigerian Army has opened applications for the Short Service Combatant Commission (SSCC) Course 50/2027 for eligible Nigerians seeking commission as officers.
The recruitment exercise is open to qualified civilians and serving military personnel who meet the stipulated eligibility requirements.
According to statement released by the Army, successful candidates will undergo training and, upon commissioning, serve in the Nigerian Army’s Combat Arms, including the Infantry and Armour Corps, as well as Combat Support Arms comprising the Artillery, Engineers, Signals and Intelligence Corps.
The Army urged prospective applicants to access the official recruitment portal, nashortservice.army.mil.ng, select the SSCC option and follow the application instructions carefully.
The service warned members of the public against fraudulent recruitment platforms and announcements, stressing that any online application portal or recruitment notice purportedly opened before the official announcement should be disregarded.
It advised applicants to rely exclusively on information disseminated through official Nigerian Army channels and encouraged members of the public to look out for official recruitment jingles on television and radio stations following the announcement.
According to the Army, applications for the SSCC Course 50/2027 will close on Saturday, October 17, 2026.
For enquiries, applicants can contact 07016874003 or 07047340295 between 8:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. daily.
The Army called on eligible Nigerians interested in serving the country as commissioned officers to take advantage of the recruitment exercise.
