Nigeria and Somalia have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations, with greater cooperation expected in security, trade, education and cultural development.
The commitment followed the presentation of Letters of Credence by Nigeria’s High Commissioner-Designate to Kenya, with concurrent accreditation to Somalia, Ambassador Danlami Ibrahim, to Somalia’s President, Hassan Mohamud.
The ceremony was held yesterday at Villa Somalia in Mogadishu, where Ibrahim conveyed the warm greetings and best wishes of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to President Mohamud.
During the engagement, the Nigerian envoy reaffirmed the country’s commitment to deepening relations with Somalia and promoting mutually beneficial cooperation between both countries.
Ibrahim expressed Nigeria’s readiness to strengthen collaboration in key areas, including security and counter-terrorism, trade and investment, education, diaspora management and culture.
The engagement further highlights Nigeria’s efforts to expand diplomatic cooperation with Somalia and advance shared interests between both countries.
