The Police have disclosed that nine persons have been confirmed dead following a recent attack by bandits terrorizing residents in the community and its environs.
The Police Command disclosed that it has jointly held a recovery exercise with operatives of the military body and evacuated bodies of the deceased persons after receiving information on the attack, adding that it has also been intensified to secure the area from security threats of the terrorists.
While making the announcement through a statement on Wednesday, the Vodevelopment is sequel to an earlier recovery of about 308 people who were abducted in the state as well as Kwara State, adding that 163 of those were rescued.
The Police stated that the persons were recovered from the Kainji Lake National forest in New Bussa Local Government Area after its operatives held an intelligence-led operation involving the Department of State Services, and the Armed Forces.
It reaffirmed that it is keen on curbing cases of terrorism and other unlawful activities to ensure protection of lives and properties.
