NBS ‘Nigeria’s GDP grows 4.4% in Q2 2026

Nigeria’s economy grew by 4.4 per cent year-on-year in the second quarter of 2026, up from the 4.2 per cent recorded in the corresponding period of 2025, the National Bureau of Statistics (NBS) said on Monday.

The growth was driven by improved performances in both the oil and non-oil sectors during the quarter.

The oil sector expanded by 7.3 per cent year-on-year in Q2 2026, while the non-oil sector grew by 4.3 per cent over the same period.

The latest GDP growth figures indicate a modest acceleration in economic activity compared with the 4.2 per cent growth recorded in Q2 2025.
