The National Agency for Food and Drug Administration and Control (NAFDAC) and the Embassy of Denmark have discussed ways to strengthen regulatory cooperation and technical collaboration in healthcare and public health.
The engagement focused on medicines regulation, pharmaceutical supply chains, food safety, regulatory reliance and other measures aimed at improving the safety and quality of regulated products in Nigeria.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday, the discussions also covered outstanding regulatory matters involving Danish-linked pharmaceutical products, as well as Good Distribution and Storage Practices, supply-chain traceability, post-marketing surveillance, laboratory verification and cold-chain management.
NAFDAC emphasised the importance of regulatory reliance, noting that assessment reports from trusted regulatory authorities could support and potentially speed up the review of products where all required documentation is available.
The two sides also explored opportunities for cooperation in public health education, digital health solutions, capacity building and technical support.
They reaffirmed their commitment to sustained dialogue and practical collaboration to strengthen Nigeria’s regulatory systems and enhance public health protection.
