The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, JAMB, has identified three reasons candidates may not find their names on its matriculation list.
The examination body explained the possible causes in an explainer video shared on its official X account on Friday, urging affected candidates to take the necessary steps to regularise their admission records.
According to JAMB, failure to accept an admission offered through the Central Admissions Processing System, CAPS, is the most common reason candidates may be left off the list.
Candidates whose admission status still shows “Not Admitted” were advised to return to their respective institutions and request that their admission be properly processed.
The board also said a candidate’s name could be missing because the institution has not yet submitted verified matriculation details to JAMB.
In such cases, candidates were advised to contact their schools and ensure that their admission information is properly processed and forwarded through CAPS.
Another reason identified by JAMB is failure to obtain the original JAMB result slip and admission letter.
Candidates affected by this issue were advised to visit the nearest JAMB office or an approved Computer-Based Test, CBT, centre to print the required documents.
JAMB urged candidates to carefully check their admission records and complete any outstanding requirements to avoid problems with their matriculation status.
The board also encouraged candidates to follow its official social media channels for further information and updates on admission-related matters.
