Compared with the outgoing model, the Z2 petrol manual is ₹20,000 more expensive, while the Z8L diesel 4WD automatic costs ₹54,000 more.
The Scorpio N retains its familiar upright, body-on-frame design, including the chrome six-slat grille, LED headlamps, C-shaped LED daytime running lamps and vertically stacked LED tail-lamps.
The main exterior change is a new set of 18-inch dual-tone diamond-cut alloy wheels on higher variants, while the lower trims continue with the earlier wheel design. The SUV remains available in Everest White, Galaxy Grey, Oceanic, Stealth Black and Deep Forest.
Inside, Mahindra has introduced a 12.3-inch free-floating touchscreen infotainment system and a 10.25-inch fully digital instrument cluster, replacing the outgoing units.
The updated SUV also gets a panoramic sunroof, revised centre console switchgear and a 65W USB Type-C fast-charging port for the front row. Buyers can continue to choose between six-seat and seven-seat layouts.
New features
The facelift adds a 540-degree surround-view camera with blind-view monitor and an Adventure Statistics display that shows data such as engine performance, roll and pitch, compass, altimeter and G-force.
Other features include a 12-speaker Sony audio system, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, Adrenox connected car technology with Alexa Built-in, wireless phone charging, dual-zone climate control, ventilated front seats, a powered driver’s seat, an electronic parking brake and an auto-dimming IRVM.Safety equipment includes six airbags, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system, hill hold and hill descent control, all-wheel disc brakes, driver drowsiness detection and ISOFIX child-seat mounts.
The top-spec Z8L variant also gets Level 2 ADAS, including adaptive cruise control, automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, lane departure warning, traffic sign recognition, smart pilot assist and high beam assist.
Engine options
The Scorpio N continues with the same powertrain options. The 2.0-litre turbo-petrol engine produces 203 hp and up to 380 Nm, while the 2.2-litre mHawk diesel is offered in two states of tune: 132 hp/300 Nm and 175 hp with up to 400 Nm.
Both engines are paired with six-speed manual and six-speed automatic gearboxes. Rear-wheel drive remains standard, while selected diesel variants continue to offer Mahindra’s 4XPLOR four-wheel-drive system with shift-on-fly functionality, terrain modes and Zip, Zap and Zoom drive modes.
Although it remains the only body-on-frame three-row SUV in this price range, its pricing overlaps with monocoque rivals such as the Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector Plus and Hyundai Alcazar.
