Nigerian TikTok creator Amadou Elizabeth Aminata, popularly known as Jarvis, has explained why she shaved her hair before her wedding to fellow content creator Peller.
Jarvis addressed the speculation in a video shared online after some social media users suggested that she shaved her hair as part of a traditional marriage rite.
The content creator dismissed the claim, explaining that the decision was based on advice from her hairstylist to ensure that her wedding hairstyle and hair installation came out properly.
“The wedding is finally over and I’m super happy. I’m proud of myself and my husband,” Jarvis said.
Addressing those who believed the haircut was connected to a traditional marriage practice, she said:
“For those of you speculating that I barbed my hair for my wedding as part of some tribal marriage rites, shut up.”
Jarvis explained that she had been advised to cut her hair because of its texture and the difficulty she had experienced getting her frontal to sit properly.
“I barbed my hair because I wanted my hair installation to be perfect. That is what my hair stylist recommended because I have a very stubborn hair.”
She added that parts of her hair, particularly the front section, had previously affected how well her hairstyles looked.
“Most of my hair like my frontal has not been sitting pretty because of my front hair,” she explained.
Jarvis and Peller, whose real name is Habeeb Hamzat, have remained in the spotlight following their highly publicised wedding celebrations.
The couple held their traditional wedding on August 1, 2026, before their white wedding on Saturday, August 8, 2026.
