Opinion

FOLLOWING Davido interview with News Central TV, he said and I quote: “The Senate President, Akpabio called me to delete my tweet. I refused. Dangote also called. I said I won’t delete until INEC declares my uncle the winner.”
This statement has raised some very important questions for me.
My question now is, What exactly is Aliko Dangote’s interest in the Osun election?
Sen. Akpabio is an APC party man. Well noted. But, What is the interest of a business mogul from Kano State in a governorship election in Osun?
Is Dangote now an APC member?
Why would Dangote be concerned about a tweet by Davido that he would personally CALL him to DELETE it?
What exactly was the concern?
Was it about the content of the tweet?
Was it about the possible impact of the tweet on the election?
Was it about protecting his business interests or investments?
Or was there something bigger happening behind the scenes that Nigerians are not seeing?
And if Davido had not publicly revealed this conversation, how many of us would have ever known that Dangote was involved?
Why was a businessman of Dangote’s stature interested in what Davido was posting about the Osun election?
Is there a legitimate business reason for this?
Or should Nigerians simply dismiss it as a businessman trying to prevent tension during an election?
These are genuine questions.
I am not saying Dangote did anything wrong. I am asking questions based on what Davido himself publicly alleged.
In a democracy, particularly one where transparency is already a major concern, Nigerians deserve to understand the interests and influences surrounding our elections.
So, what exactly was Dangote’s interest in the Osun election?
Can someone help me understand this?
Because I genuinely want to know.
Or DANGOTE! Tell us!
