Nollywood actress Mo Bimpe has opened up about being left out of baby showers, naming ceremonies and children’s birthday parties before she became a mother, saying the experience came from people she knew and cared about.
Bimpe shared the revelation on social media while reflecting on her journey to motherhood and offering encouragement to women who are currently trying to conceive.
The actress said she discovered that some people deliberately excluded her from events centred around children because she did not have a child at the time.
According to her, the experience was particularly painful because some of those involved were people within her circle whom she knew personally and valued.
“There was a time when I wasn’t invited to baby showers, naming ceremonies, children’s birthdays, or anything related to kids,” she said.
Bimpe’s comments highlight the social pressure and emotional challenges that women may face while navigating fertility struggles, particularly when people around them make assumptions about their circumstances.
Her message was directed at women currently trying to conceive, encouraging them to remain hopeful despite the difficulties and insensitive treatment they may encounter from others.
The actress’s disclosure has also sparked conversations about the need for greater sensitivity when relating with people who are yet to have children, as exclusion from family and social gatherings can deepen the emotional burden they already face.
