“I can’t divorce my wife simply because I caught her with another man” – Man shares his perspective on infidelity

A Nigerian man has shared his perspective on infidelity in marriage, stating that he would not immediately divorce his wife if he caught her with another man.

In a video shared on X (formerly Twitter), the man explained that his decision would be based on his personal convictions and belief that couples should first examine the issues within their marriage before making major decisions.

According to him, catching a wife cheating should prompt a man to ask himself whether there was something lacking in the relationship that may have contributed to her actions.

“I can’t divorce my wife simply because I caught her with another man. This is not for the applause, and I’m not saying it just to make anyone feel happy. It’s just me, my conviction and my belief.

Now, if I catch my wife red-handed with another man, I will ask myself some personal questions. Is there any part of me that is not okay for her?” he said.

The man stressed that Africans often rush to conclusions without taking time to understand the circumstances surrounding marital problems.

He suggested that instead of immediately blaming an unfaithful partner, couples should also reflect on their individual roles and examine whether issues within the relationship may have contributed to the situation.

“The truth is, we Africans like jumping into conclusion without trying to clarify the issues within ourselves. You could be the reason why she’s doing what she’s doing,” he added.

His comments have generated discussions online, with some agreeing that couples should examine the underlying problems in their marriages, while others maintained that infidelity remains a serious breach of trust.

The man’s perspective has continued to fuel conversations about forgiveness, accountability and how couples should respond to cheating in marriage.
