The publicity secretary of the opposition African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Gombe state, Abdulrahman Buba Zaune, has officially resigned from the party, effective immediately.
Zaune conveyed his decision in a resignation letter dated August 5, 2026 and addressed to the ward chairman of Zaune ward in Dukku local government area.
In the letter, he thanked the party for the opportunity to serve in various capacities in the party.
“I sincerely appreciate the political party for opportunity to serve at different capacities ranging from local government, state, and national levels respectively. I therefore wish the party well.” Zaune stated.
His exit is generating political interest within the state, particularly as it comes barely 24 hours after the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate, Jamilu Isiyaka Gwamna, visited Dukku local government area, where the former ADC secretary hails from.
Few weeks ago, the state secretary of the ADC, Ahmed Gana, resigned and joined the APC to support Mr. Gwamna.
