Fulham have completed the signing of striker, Gonzalo García from Real Madrid in a deal worth €40 million (£34m), with the 22-year-old putting pen to paper on a five-year contract until 2031, with an option to extend by a further year.
García, who came through Real Madrid’s academy after joining the club at the age of 10, departs having made 35 first-team appearances and earning his senior Spain debut earlier this year. He now reunites with former Madrid youth coach, Alvaro Arbeloa, who took charge of Fulham this summer.
“I’m very grateful, very happy to be here,” García said after completing the move. “I have to thank the board and Arbeloa for the trust they’ve put in me, and I’m very excited to start.”
Real Madrid paid tribute to the forward in a farewell statement, thanking him for his commitment and dedication throughout his time at the club and wishing him success in the next chapter of his career.
