From Nollywood to Pulpit: Ex-Actress Tonto Dikeh’s Church Comes Alive

By Segun Adebayo

What began as a quiet personal journey of faith has evolved into a bold new chapter for former Nollywood star turned evangelist Tonto Dikeh, who officially launched her own church and hosted its inaugural service.

Dikeh, who has in recent months become increasingly vocal about her Christian faith, shared moments from the new ministry on social media, giving her followers a glimpse into the beginning of what appears to be a new phase in her spiritual journey.

The actress has steadily moved from publicly speaking about her transformation to actively participating in evangelism and ministry.

Per Second News reports that her recent activities included preaching, prayer sessions and outreach programmes, attracting attention from her fans and followers.

The development comes months after Dikeh announced her graduation from a discipleship class at Streams of Joy International based in Abuja led by Pastor Jerry Eze.

Since then, the actress has continued to demonstrate her commitment to her new path.

In March, she was reported to have participated in an evangelism outreach where she prayed for students and conducted what was described as a deliverance session.

Dikeh has also spoken openly about leaving behind aspects of her former lifestyle.

Her public testimonies have centred on her renewed relationship with God and her belief that her experiences have prepared her for a greater spiritual assignment.

Her transition has also been reflected in the way she now presents herself publicly.

In one of her recent ministry-related appearances, she asked to be addressed as a woman of God or Evangelist Tonto Dikeh rather than by the title “King,” which she had previously used.

The first service, which held on Sunday, August 9, has already generated reactions online, with social media users paying attention to the actress’s new role and the direction she appears to be taking.
