Young professionals, creatives, business owners, and NGO leaders were on Thursday in Abuja exposed to harnessing practical AI tools for productivity, business growth, digital tasks, and content creation.
Speaking at the event, Flourish Her Africa Founder and Executive Director Uwakmfon Nsa emphasized the group’s mission to demystify emerging technologies and put them directly into the hands of young people.
“Artificial Intelligence is rapidly changing the way we work, create, communicate, and build businesses.
“Our goal with the AI Accelerator Programme is not simply to tell young people that AI is the future, but to give them the confidence and practical knowledge to begin using these tools today,” she said.
Nsa said access to technology must go hand in hand with the skills to use it effectively and responsibly, adding that practical digital and AI skills would help young people become more competitive, creative and prepared for opportunities in the digital economy.
PerSecondNews correspondent, who participated in the training held in Abuja on Thursday under the AI Accelerator Programme, reports that it was organised by Flourish Her Africa in partnership with iLEAD AFRICA and AUP Digital Africa.
The one-day programme focused on moving participants beyond basic awareness of Artificial Intelligence to understanding how AI tools can be applied to their businesses, careers, organisations, projects and creative activities.
The training provided participants with hands-on AI skills, showing them how to generate engaging video and digital content while integrating automated tools into daily workflows to save time, boost creativity, and improve decision-making.
Alongside operational efficiency, the curriculum heavily emphasized digital safety and ethical tech use—teaching attendees how to secure personal data, spot online threats, and navigate AI’s limitations responsibly.
Throughout the programme, participants were actively encouraged to experiment with these new tools to solve real-world challenges across their businesses, careers, and organizations.
A total 15 founders were selected to participate in the hands-on learning experience, which provided opportunities to share experiences, ask questions and explore practical applications of AI to individual needs.
The programme concluded with certificate presentation for participants who completed the one-day training, signaling the end of the hands-on sessions.
Attendees praised Flourish Her Africa and its partners, noting that the practical coursework delivered valuable, actionable strategies for leveraging AI in business, productivity, content creation, and digital safety.
The programme forms part of Flourish Her Africa’s wider digital skills initiatives aimed at equipping women and young people with technology-driven skills for employment, entrepreneurship, innovation and sustainable livelihoods.
Workshop attendees praised the organizers for delivering actionable, hands-on training.
Girl-child advocate Rosemary Enemari told PersecondNews that the sessions offered clear methods for using AI to drive content creation and personal productivity.
“The training provided useful insights into applying AI tools to content creation and improving productivity,” she said.
Similarly, participant Bridget Pinaowei highlighted the programme’s practical value, noting how easily the lessons apply to everyday work and creative activities.
