DRTS cooperative vows stronger welfare support for members

The President of the Directorate of Road Traffic Services Cooperative Society, Iliya Babandi, has reaffirmed his commitment to improving the welfare of members.

Babandi made this known during a media interaction, where he said the cooperative would prioritise members’ interests and respond to their needs.

He said the society would pursue initiatives aimed at improving the welfare of members amid the economic challenges facing Nigerians.

“The cooperative society will witness a lot of improvement, and we will continue to satisfy the interests of our members,” Babandi said.

He said his personal interest would not take precedence over the collective interest of members.

“Since our election, my team and I have done a lot, in line with our mandate, to put smiles on the faces of members,” he stated.

Babandi said cooperatives had an important role to play in supporting workers, particularly during difficult economic periods.

According to him, the DRTS cooperative would continue to explore opportunities that could improve members’ financial and social wellbeing.

He also said the cooperative maintained a cordial relationship with the leadership of the DRTS.

Babandi added that he had opened discussions with the leadership of the Federal Cooperative Society to identify areas of collaboration.

He said effective cooperative leadership required patience, discretion and commitment to members’ interests.

“I believe leadership requires patience and discretion, and these are values I have demonstrated since assuming office,” he said.

Babandi assured members that his administration would remain focused on delivering on its mandate and strengthening the cooperative for their collective benefit.
