Elders and stakeholders from the Gaav axis of Konshisha Local Government Area of Benue State have pledged their support for the re-election of Governor Hyacinth Alia in the 2027 governorship election.
The endorsement followed a strategic consultative meeting convened by the Technical Adviser to the Benue State Governor on Media, Publicity and Strategic Communication, Solomon Iorpev, where participants resolved to intensify grassroots mobilization and strengthen support for the governor’s second-term bid.
The meeting was held yesterday in Tse Agberagba, Konshisha Local Government Area, where Iorpev brought together elders, former elected councillors and former supervisors from the Gaav axis to discuss strategies for securing Governor Alia’s re-election.
Speaking during the meeting, Iorpev challenged participants to identify practical steps needed to guarantee the governor’s victory in 2027, a move that sparked extensive deliberations on voter mobilization, community engagement and effective communication between the government and the people.
The stakeholders recommended sustained grassroots consultations, stronger collaboration among party members, traditional rulers, youths and community leaders, describing the measures as critical to consolidating support for the governor across the area.
Iorpev reaffirmed his commitment to continuous engagement with stakeholders across the state, stressing that inclusive leadership and regular consultations remain key to electoral success.
Also speaking, the Director General of Signage and . assured participants that recommendations requiring immediate action would be implemented, while others outside his mandate would be forwarded to the appropriate authorities for consideration.
The stakeholders commended Iorpev for initiating what they described as an unprecedented consultative forum, saying it was the first time they had been given the opportunity to openly express their views and contribute ideas towards the success of Governor Alia’s administration.
They expressed confidence that the governor’s performance in infrastructure, education, healthcare, civil service reforms, security and rural development had earned him widespread public support and positioned him strongly for another term in office.
The meeting ended with a resolution by the elders and stakeholders to promote unity within the party, intensify grassroots mobilization and work towards securing Governor Hyacinth Alia’s re-election in the 2027 governorship election.
