APGA names Afiniki Yarima Taraba South senatorial candidate

The All Progressives Grand Alliance has affirmed Hon. Afiniki Yarima as its candidate for the Taraba South Senatorial District ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Yarima replaces Barrister Tanko Kyan-emoh as the party’s senatorial candidate for the district.

Speaking after her affirmation, Yarima pledged to provide effective representation for the people of Taraba South if elected.

She listed road infrastructure, healthcare, education, youth employment, agriculture and community security among her priorities.

“I am one of you. I understand our struggles and share our dreams,” Yarima said.

She promised to represent constituents irrespective of their ethnic or religious backgrounds.

Yarima also urged the people of Taraba South to support her candidacy on the APGA platform.

She said her emergence reflected the party’s commitment to encouraging women to participate more actively in politics and governance.

Meanwhile, APGA’s governorship candidate in Taraba State, Hon. Danjuma Usman Shiddi, popularly known as Danji SS, has continued his campaign activities across the state.

The party said the activities were aimed at strengthening its grassroots structures ahead of the 2027 elections.

Yarima’s candidacy is expected to form part of APGA’s broader campaign strategy in Taraba South as the party seeks to expand its presence in the state.

The senatorial candidate called on residents of the district to support her campaign.

“Vote Hon. Afiniki Yarima for Senate – Taraba South. APGA – the people’s progressive choice,” she said.
