President Donald Trump faced international mockery after the Spanish national football team’s official X account shared a World Cup victory photo that appeared to exclude him entirely.
Trump had photobombed Sunday’s trophy presentation ceremony, following Spain’s 1-0 victory over Argentina, lingering onstage while FIFA President Gianni Infantino attempted to usher him aside for team photos.
The Spanish Football Federation’s official post featured players and coach Luis de la Fuente celebrating but showed no sign of Trump, prompting widespread speculation he was digitally removed.
Social media users globally mocked the suspected edit.
Democratic influencer Harry Sisson posted, “LOL SPAIN EDITED TRUMP OUT OF THE PHOTO.”
Sportswriter Amos Murphy wondered, “Did they photoshop Trump out of the picture?”
The Indonesian pro soccer club, Bandung Football, noted, “Hold on, something’s missing from this photo.”
