Troops of Sector 6, Operation Enduring Peace, have arrested four suspects during a manhunt for those linked to the recent attack on Kumm Village in Riyom Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The suspects were apprehended during a cordon-and-search operation at Luggere Fulani hamlets in neighbouring Barkin Ladi Local Government Area as security forces intensified efforts to track down those responsible for the July 11 attack on the community.
The operation, carried out at about 11:30 a.m. on July 12, forms part of ongoing military efforts to identify and arrest those behind the attack.
Security analyst, Zagazola Makama, who disclosed the development on Tuesday, said the suspects were identified as Abbas Musa, 27; Haruna Jibrin, 56; Hassan Ibrahim, 22; and Isah Aliyu, 50.
According to Makama, the four suspects are undergoing preliminary investigation to determine their alleged involvement in the attack and any possible links to other criminal activities.
He added that troops have sustained offensive and intelligence-led operations across the Riyom–Barkin Ladi corridor in a bid to apprehend other fleeing suspects.
