Taraba LG boss revokes indigeneship certificates

The chairman of Gashaka Local Government Area of Taraba, Umar Yusuf, has revoked all existing indigeneship certificates issued to indigenes from the council in the state.

Yusuf said the action became necessary following the introduction of a redesigned certificate and advised members of the public to collect the new certificates from the council secretariat.

The council boss announced the revocation of the certificates through a statement made available to journalists on Saturday in Wukari by the council’s director of Administration and General Services, Ali Baba.

According to the statement, “All persons holding the old certificates are hereby directed to report to the Office of the Director of Administration and General Services at the Local Government Secretariat for the collection of the new certificate of indigeneship.

“Note that all old certificates currently in circulation stand revoked with immediate effect, please,” he said.
