Super Eagles striker, Tolu Arokodare, is set to join Eredivisie club, Ajax Amsterdam, following a season-long-loan move agreed by the side to transit the player into its squad ahead the 2026/27 campaign.
According to transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano, Ajax and Arokodare’s parent club, Wolverhampton Wanderers, have held a club-to-club agreement with the player’s wages also covered as well as a buy-back clause also included in the deal.
In the deal, Wolves are set to receive a £1 million loan fee with other bonuses totalling £500,000 should Ajax qualify fir Europe this season, in what appears to be on a positive path as the Dutch side hold a 4-1 lead after the first leg of their second round tie against Serbian club, FC Vojvodina.
According to the reports on Monday, the Super Eagles striker rejected proposals from soccer outfits in the Turkish Super League and the Italian Serie A after the 25-year-old was out of the Yellow and Black two Pre-Season friendlies against Maidenhead and Real Sociedad.
Arokodare, who is set to join his sixth club of his career, arrived at Wolves last summer from Belgian side, Genk, after finishing as the league’s top scorer the previous season.
The striker got six goals in 38 games for the Premier League side last season, but could not help the club escape relegation after an eight-year stay in the top-flight.
He has two goals in his 10 appearances for the Nigerian national team.
