Seplat Energy Plc has achieved zero routine gas flaring across its onshore operations, a development the company described as a major milestone in its drive towards sustainable energy production and environmental stewardship.
The Chief Operating Officer and Executive Director of the company, Mr. Samson Ezugworie, stated this during a media interaction with journalists in Benin City, Edo state.
He said the feat was accomplished at the end of 2025, covering both the company’s western and eastern onshore assets.
Ezugworie said the achievement demonstrates Seplat’s commitment to reducing emissions and aligning its operations with global best practices in the oil and gas industry.
“I will make bold to say that in our onshore business, covering both western and eastern assets, we achieved the end of routine gas flaring in all our operations as of the end of last year,” he said.
The Seplat executive described the development as a significant accomplishment, noting that eliminating routine flaring remains a major challenge for many operators within and outside Nigeria.
