The Scottish Football Association, SFA, has issued a four-game ban against head coach of Rangers, Derek Mclnees, over an offence of unsportsmanship behaviour aimed at a match official.
The SFA imposed the sanction on the Scottish tactician for his comments while being in charge of Hearts, stating that the utterances violated its disciplinary rule 77, and would miss his side’s first three league games in the next campaign, and adding that the fourth game sanction would be implemented should he violate the rule before the season finishes.
Mclnees, during was found culpable of remarks made in the wake of Motherwell’s defeat by Celtic, describing referee John Beaton’s decision to award penalty for handball against Sam Nicholson on the advice of the Video Assistant Referee, Andew Dallas, as ”actually quite disgusting”, adding that ”I shouldn’t be commenting on another game but having seen that, it feels like us against everybody.”
The association’s decision, announced on Wednesday, now means that the 55-year-old would now miss his side’s opener against Dundee United, as well as against Hibernian in the League Cup second round tie, as well as St Mirren.
