Primate Ayodele accuses Lauretta Onochie of using AI to manipulate prophecy, threatens legal action 

The leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has accused former presidential aide, Lauretta Onochie, and other politicians of manipulating his prophecies with Artificial Intelligence (AI) to mislead the public and advance political interests.

Ayodele said this following the circulation of a video on social media allegedly shared by Onochie, which portrayed him as declaring that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu would not return to power in 2027 and that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar would have an advantage over other contenders.

In a statement signed by his media aide on Monday, Osho Oluwatosin, the cleric described the video as AI-generated and entirely false, insisting that he never made such a declaration during the public presentation of the 2026/2027 edition of his annual prophecy book, ‘Warnings To The Nations,’ held Saturday.

He warned politicians against exploiting emerging technologies to distort his messages, describing the practice as unethical, criminal and offensive to God.

Ayodele said the growing desperation among some political actors to gain public sympathy has reached an alarming level, leading them to fabricate and manipulate religious pronouncements to suit their political agenda.

The cleric clarified that during the unveiling of his prophecy book, he deliberately refrained from predicting the outcome of the 2027 presidential election because he had not received divine permission to disclose such information publicly.

“I never declared anyone a winner or a loser during the presentation of my prophecy book,” he said. “I specifically informed journalists present that I had not received clearance from God to make that revelation public.”
