The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has dismantled a notorious six-member “one chance” kidnapping and armed robbery syndicate, rescued a victim and recovered the full ₦8.25 million ransom paid to the suspects.
The command said the intelligence-led operation also led to the arrest of all six members of the gang and the recovery of two vehicles allegedly used in their operations, along with other incriminating exhibits.
The breakthrough followed a series of intelligence-driven operations by operatives of the FCT Police Command, culminating in the safe rescue of the victim and the recovery of the entire ransom.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the command disclosed that some of the suspects are repeat offenders, adding that they would be charged in court upon the conclusion of investigations.
The FCT Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to tackling violent crime across the territory, stressing that criminals have no hiding place in the nation’s capital.
It also urged residents to remain vigilant and continue supporting security agencies with timely and credible information to strengthen crime prevention and safeguard lives and property.
