The Plateau State Police Command has arrested an additional suspect in connection with the alleged gruesome killing of 25-year-old Ibrahim Mbaya, bringing the total number of suspects arrested in the case to four.
The Command said the latest arrest followed sustained intelligence gathering and a discreet investigation by operatives of the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID), describing it as a significant breakthrough in the ongoing probe.
The arrest was made yesterday, in Plateau State, where Police operatives apprehended Tisloh Joshua for his alleged involvement in the incident.
According to the Command, the suspect is currently in police custody while investigations continue, with efforts intensified to track down and arrest other suspects still at large.
The Police recalled that three suspects had earlier been arrested in connection with the killing, adding that the latest development demonstrates the Command’s resolve to ensure that all those linked to the crime are brought to justice.
The Command assured the family of the deceased and residents of Plateau State that everyone connected to the incident would be identified, arrested and prosecuted in accordance with the law.
It also condemned all forms of jungle justice, urging members of the public to refrain from taking the law into their own hands and instead report suspected criminal activities to the Police and other relevant security agencies for lawful investigation and prosecution.
The Command further appreciated residents for their continued cooperation and appealed for credible, timely and actionable information to support efforts at maintaining peace, security and public safety across the state.
