Martins Vincent Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan (VDM), a social media activist, has appealed to security agencies to safeguard Adeniyi Adeyemi, saying Nigerians deserve to hear the full truth behind the allegations currently making headlines.
Speaking in a video posted on his X account on Friday, the activist expressed concern over Adeyemi’s safety as controversy continues to trail claims made against the Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Femi Gbajabiamila.
Adeyemi, who is identified as the Director-General of the Presidential Foreign Intervention Promotion Council (PFIPC), recently alleged that he paid N400 million through an intermediary and was later asked to provide an additional N200 million before his appointment could be finalised.
The allegations have since been rejected by the Presidency. Officials insisted that Gbajabiamila has no role in issuing government appointment letters or making appointments in the manner described, dismissing the claims against him.
Reacting to the dispute, VeryDarkMan said his greatest concern was Adeyemi’s wellbeing, stressing that the whistleblower should remain safe while authorities determine the facts surrounding the matter.
“My first interest in this case is that I don’t want to hear that Prince Adeniyi Adeyemi died mysteriously.”
He argued that the case has become a matter of public interest and urged law enforcement agencies to ensure Adeyemi is protected throughout any investigation.
“It is the duty of our security operatives to protect him because Nigerians are interested in getting to the root of these allegations.”
VeryDarkMan maintained that the controversy should be investigated transparently, saying Nigerians deserve clear answers over the claims and the official response from the Presidency.
