Former Fenerbahçe forward Serdar Dursun has expressed doubts over Victor Osimhen’s ability to thrive at Barcelona, arguing that the Nigerian striker may not possess the technical qualities associated with the Spanish giants.
Despite his reservations, Dursun acknowledged that the Super Eagles star remains one of Europe’s most dangerous attackers following another impressive campaign with Galatasaray.
Osimhen continues to attract Europe’s elite
Osimhen enjoyed an outstanding season, helping Galatasaray retain the Turkish Super Lig title with a series of influential performances.
The Nigerian international finished the campaign with 22 goals and eight assists in all competitions, further strengthening interest from several top European clubs.
Barcelona, Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain, Manchester United and Chelsea have all been linked with the striker in recent months.
Former Turkey striker explains his view
Speaking on the Cup Diary programme on Spor Smart, Dursun praised Osimhen’s ability but questioned whether his playing style matches Barcelona’s football philosophy.
According to him, the Nigerian is a gifted forward but lacks the refined technical quality typically expected from players at the Catalan club.
His comments come as reports continue to suggest Barcelona are also monitoring Argentine striker Julián Álvarez as a possible attacking option.
Transfer speculation continues
With the 2026/27 season fast approaching, uncertainty remains over Osimhen’s next destination.
The former Napoli striker is expected to decide his future in the coming weeks as interest from several European heavyweights continues to grow.
