BARRISTER Chimezie Obi, who is the president general of Obosi Development Union (ODU), has poured encomiums on Gov. Soludo of Anambra state for reviving the moribund Obosi water scheme at Eke Obosi.

Before then, the water facilities installed at Eke Obosi, which had piped water to many households in the town in the past, fell into deseutede when they developed faults.

However, at an event organized to hand over the revived small Obosi Water Scheme to the people of Obosi on July 7,  the Obosi town union leader lauded Gov. Soludo for repairing the water plants.

He made the promise that Obosi Water Scheme would serve the purpose for which it was created, saying that people who drink potable water would not contract communicable diseases like diarrhea and typhoid.

“I am happy today because the Anambra state government handed over the Obosi Water Scheme to us.

“The government, which spent millions of naira to revamp it, handed the water scheme to us, in order for us to own it, manage it, and secure it.

“I am making this promise to the Anambra state government that the government’s aims for reviving the moribund Obosi Water Scheme will be achieved,” Obi said.

Barr. Obi thanked the staff members of Noribest company for repairing and revamping the water facilities at Eke Obosi.

He begged them to tarry awhile in Obosi during which they would teach the water operators overseeing the water facilities the nitty-gritty about how to operate the water facilities.
