The Chairman/CEO, Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), Hon. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, has congratulated two accomplished Nigerian women, Ugwechi Amadi and Prof. Oghenetega Ighedo, on their remarkable achievements and contributions to global excellence.
In a statement, Wednesday in Abuja, by NiDCOM Director, Media, Public Relations and Protocols, Abdur-Rahman Balogun, the Commission’s boss described the accomplishments of the two women as a source of immense pride for Nigeria, describing them as clear proof of the talent, resilience and intellectual capacity of Nigerians who continue to make an impact on the global stage.
Amadi was recently appointed Senior Vice President and Chief Strategy Officer of McDonald’s. A graduate of MIT and a Rhodes Scholar with a PhD from the University of Oxford, she has held senior leadership roles at LIV Golf, Nike and Boston Consulting Group (BCG).
On the other hand, Ighedo made history as the first black woman to earn a PhD in Pure Mathematics from the University of South Africa (UNISA). She is an Associate Professor of Mathematical Sciences at UNISA, distinguishing herself through academic and research work and continues to inspire greater participation in mathematics and STEM fields.
