The lawmaker representing Oyo North Senatorial District, Abdulfatai Buhari, has said that the rescue of the abducted Oyo schoolchildren and teachers was made possible solely through collaboration among security agencies.
Buhari made this remark on Monday during an interview on a television programme.
He also commended military officers for their determination in carrying out the rescue mission.
According to him, each of the security agencies involved had a specific role to play, noting that a special squad from the National Security Adviser’s office was also part of the operation.
He recounted that about four weeks earlier, while in his constituency, he had seen a naval battalion passing through Ogbomosho and wondered what their mission was, only to later realise that every unit involved had a designated role in the operation.
He added that the General Officer Commanding and the garrison commander were all present at the scene, describing them as determined and ready to act.
Recall that the military on Monday handed over the rescued abducted victims to the Oyo State Government.
