Hoodlums,Wednesday, stormed Umuoyima Hall in the Owerri Municipal Council of Imo state, and allegedly beat up and destroyed about 700 chairs used by members of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) having a meeting with their candidates in Owerri zone.
Although the reason for the attack was not known at press time, an eyewitness said the attack was led by some known “attack dogs” who came and disrupted their activities and even confiscated their phones, brandishing guns, axes and machetes as they were having a peaceful meeting. And that the meeting had in attendance NDC candidates in the zone, made up of senatorial candidates for Owerri zone, Hon Uche Onyeagocha, House of Representatives and Imo House of Assembly candidates.
