Veteran Nollywood actor Emeka Ike has shared his views on love and marriage, stressing that relationships should not be treated as avenues for personal gain.
Speaking in a recent interview, the actor argued that love and marriage are not inherently a scam, but said problems arise when people enter relationships primarily to benefit financially or materially from their partners.
He said some individuals pursue relationships for what they hope to gain rather than out of genuine affection, a mindset he believes undermines the true meaning of love.
He maintained that love should remain sacred, describing it as the foundation and pillar of every healthy relationship, and urged Nigerians to stop turning romantic relationships into transactional arrangements.
He said love and marriage only become problematic when people pursue partners for what they can get out of them, criticising the growing trend of people entering relationships purely for material gain, and calling on Nigerians to stop undermining what he considers the sacred foundation of genuine relationships.
